Invitations are also extended to:

  • All UMBC undergraduate students
  • Students from NSF programs such as LSAMP, AGEP, NSF ERC, RDE etc., at any school
  • McNair programs at any school.
  • Students from organizations such as SHPE, SACNAS, NSBE, and AISES at any school in the country are welcome to attend.
  • We also invite professionals who are considering returning to graduate school for an advanced degree.

Light refreshments and lunch will be provided. This program is free, but potential participants must register.

  1. Students with UMBC IDs may register on the Summer Horizons site on MyUMBC: http://my.umbc.edu/groups/promise/events/12118. Login to your MyUMBC account, and click the green “I can attend” button at the bottom of the page.

Students from other campuses may register here by posting name, major, school, and current summer program if applicable, e.g. McNair SRI, College Park BSOS SRI, UMBC Summer Biomedical Program, NSF, QEM, NIH, NIST.

You do not have to be part of a summer program to participate in the Summer Horizons workshop. Students who are working and considering returning to school, students who are taking summer classes, or students who have other activities for the summer and are thinking about graduate school are invited to attend.
