Cell Biology Faculty Position Opening at UMBC

Excerpt:  The Department of Biological Sciences at UMBC invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in eukaryotic cell biology, especially as it relates to neurobiology, to complement existing departmental strengths in neuroscience and cell and developmental biology, and to interact with faculty whose interests range from genomics and molecular genetics to ecology, evolution, and behavior. The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in a relevant field of biological sciences, post-doctoral experience and a strong publication record and is expected to establish a vigorous, externally funded research program, supervise doctoral-level graduate students, and teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels

Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, summary of current research and future plans, and a statement of teaching interests and philosophy to biosearch@umbc.edu in a single PDF in the above order. The applicant should also arrange to have three letters of reference in PDF format, sent to biosearch@umbc.edu. She previously served as Associate Vice Provost for Strategic Initiatives at The Graduate School at UMBC, and was Professor of the Practice in the College of Engineering & IT. She was Special Assistant to the Sr. Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Director of Graduate and Professional Pipeline Development for the University System of Maryland (12 institutions).
